Default Is it worth upgrading from 10.5.6? - 09-01-2009, 06:45 AM

I had a perfectly good install on my 10v with 10.5.6 until I decided to try to make some changes resulting in it not booting. So, after a clean install on a freshly formatted drive I now have a perfectly working system again.

I have the urge to update to 10.5.7 or 10.5.8 or better still 10.6, but now that it's OK again I'll need some convincing as to the benefits. It basically comes down to time.

I've looked at all the upgrade threads and not sure if there is any real benefit, I mean what benefits over 10.5.6 are there really? Or maybe I should say are there any issues with just keeping it on 10.5.6? Many thanks all!

No need to look at the upgrade threads. It is a simple upgrade to 10.5.8 using the guide linked in my signature and NetbookInstaller .8.2RC4

Do not bother with 10.6 yet, as it is not ready to be easily installed and working!

After working through the headache to go to 10.5.7 I tried 10.5.8 and I found it to be a total waste of time. My 2 cents do not upgrade at all. You wont gain anything. You will maybe learn alot but your mini wont do anything better than it does now. If you have a fast and stable system leave it alone. upgrade everything through system update except the os.
