well I followed the fantastic:
Fool Proof Install Guide for a 100% Working Macbook Mini 10v!
Now updated for 10.5.8!!!
I followed the following steps:
5. Updating to 10.5.8:
-Click the apple at the top left and run the software update
-uncheck everything EXCEPT for the "Mac OSX Update"
-let it run. it will first download then install
-after it restarts and you see the blue progress bar below the apple again, hit any key, then type "-x" and hit enter to boot into safe mode as before
-Once in safe mode, run the DellEFI for 10v app with these settings checked:
•Delete dsdt.aml file
•install old GMA kext(optional:if you want to mirror to another monitor via vga port you must check this)
-let it reboot into osx as normal. It may take a few minutes to boot up this one time, but let it go
-Once booted up run DellEFI for 10v again with these settings checked:
•install Mini 9 extensions
•Generate dsdt.aml file
•install old GMA kext(this time it is not optional, you will want the old driver)
•enable remote cd(optional)
-reboot and now you have a fully functional 10.5.8 install! However if your audio does not work after sleep, see step seven. If you followed the guide correctly though, it should work perfectly.
So thats what I did. Not sure what a kext is, but i see it used alot. Anyway, if that had me reinstall my kext, then I did it. If its not in that step however, then no.
It's odd. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much. Whats the fastest way to have it go to sleep and shut down everything to test it multiple times? I set it to sleep after 1 minute of innactivity and also tried the sleep function under the apple. I just want to keep testing it, although I'm sure I wont replicate it, it will just happen on its own
