Default dell mini 10v restore partition - 06-26-2009, 03:14 AM

I haven't received my mini 10v XP netbook yet. Can you tell me the size of the restore partition ? Also, what commands are required to restore the mini 10v using the restore partition ?

The Mini's don't have restore partitions like the regular Dells. You can, however, request the System Restoration CD set from Tech. Support. This link gives more info. on the SRCDs. Despite what you might read in the thread about how difficult/impossible they are to get Dell to send, they are still available. My set for my Mini 10v came yesterday; the support agent actually knew what they were and had the dispatch set up in 5 minutes.

How to: Re-image your Mini9 from Dells image for your system

59221. Same part number for any Dell. If you call, just before you finish the call, double check that it is 59221 that they are sending. Half of the time it's just the usual XP disk and the Drivers & Utilities disks and not 59221. Be persistent until you are absolutely sure you are getting 59221. That thread basically stresses the same thing, persistence.
