Just a quick question, Does the 1018 still have the glossy lid as all the other minis, that shows every fingerprint, smudge etc. I was hoping Dell finally wised up and had more of a matte finsh on the 1018.

no, its still the same, but I will tell ya one thing the quality of the plastic used between the time of the 1010/1011's and the 1012/1018's has decreased...my friend got a NEW 1012 and the whole unit seemed a lot more cheaply made than my 1010.....just my 0.02

My lid is badly scratched, bought my 1012 second hand, anyone know of the type of paint is used. i'm planning on using stopper 1200 wet and dry and then repainting with celulose..
