Default performance of the 1018 vs 10v - 09-15-2010, 12:47 AM

Hey guys, I'm not too knowledgeable about the innards of netbooks, so please forgive me if this is a dumb question but is the 1018 any faster then the 10v.

I have the 10v which given the hardware, made it quite easily into a hackintosh. Aside from the ability to turn the newer mini's into a hackintosh, would I see any performance boost?

I don't have a 1018 or a 10v, but I do have a 1012 and a 9, which are similar. The performance difference isn't noticeable. I can measure the improvement (CPU use during video playback, etc), but it's not something you'd notice in typical use.

Mini 9 | Intel 5100 Wifi | Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook
Mini 1012 | SSD | Intel 6200 Wifi | Ubuntu 11.10 64bit

Thanks for the information. I'm used to seeing newer revisions of a product to get a speed bump, but I think netbooks are a different animal, where size/heat/battery are large limiting factors, more so then a typical laptop.

Thanks
Mike

I've had both, I think the only real factor (aside the design if you like it) is the improved battery life.
