Got a mini 1012 to "fix". I'm not a tech. I play with no pay. Power indicator flashes white briefly then yellow. That's it. Apparently this is a botched install of WIN7 64 on a working mini. Format from bootable usb drive. Why ? Hazy report from that point but, mini was turned off which interrupted install and never recovered. What to do - where to start ? Trash can is close to bench. |

why not just re-format the drive and re-install Win 7, I wouldnt bother with the 64bit version, it only can go to 2gb of RAM and Win 7 64bit requires AT LEAST 2.5gb-3gb of RAM to effectively run 64bit apps iPad 4 (64gb),Targus Versavu Case |

As I said, not a tech. The drive was formatted by owner as prep for install of WIN7 64. Do not know why he wanted to do that but, there it is. I play a bit just not with the new netbooks so, I looked a few things over with google and tried some other things that were intended to re-load and or restart the mini from (eprom ?) scratch, crtl +fn - crtl + end. No luck, no power on. Power indicator flashes white then flashes yellow and nothing from the hdd indicator. Sooo, tried a bootable usb with WINXP sp3 and made another try to power on with the usb inserted. Nada. IS this thing dead ? or is there something else I should be doing ? |

when you try to boot from USB do you have 'Legacy USB' in the BIOS enabled?, if not the system WILL NOT boot from USB no matter what iPad 4 (64gb),Targus Versavu Case |

Hard to determine when it won't power on so I can access the bios. The usb drive flashes as it's accessed so, I believe the mobo must have life but, it's only a quick flash and then it's lights out. I have not a clue as to what is the next step to take. I don't own an external cd/dvd but, I might be able to borrow one if you think it could help? The trash can is looking tempting though. |

if ya got access to an external CD/DVD drive I would go that route, cheaper than buying one for sure iPad 4 (64gb),Targus Versavu Case |
