Default Advice for touchpad - 01-24-2012, 03:03 PM

Hell all,

I know there are many threads out there on this topic, but I'm looking for some advice! I just bought the 1012 for my wife and its awesome. I had plans on switching to an SSD drive, adding memory, and upgrading the OS. However, one problem - the touchpad (which I was aware of beforehand). She hates it and I have to admit, so do I. It really is bad and I can't believe Dell could let this pass through testing and think it was a good idea...

Anyway, I have about a week or so left in my 21 day return period and I am trying to decide what to do. Has anyone been able to make it perform better - maybe tweaking the settings or installing new drivers or anything? Or is it something you will get used to? But to me (and her), scrolling is so difficult to do and that is one of the most basic actions you can do with a mouse... Any advice!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,
Chris

I believe some have loaded the multi-touch pad drivers from the Mini 1010 on there, the 1010 was the only one that had that capability and my touch pad works great...try searching for it here
