Default 64bit Windows 7 1012. Its is Worth ? - 08-11-2011, 03:48 PM

Hello, i got 1012 stock, i'm using ubuntu 11.04 now, but i'm going to install windows 7 professional 64bit on it. does it worth ? working perfectly ? i didn't have 32bit

personally I wont bother with 64 bit, unless you have more than 2gb RAM which you dont, 64bit might actually run slower than 32bit, 64bit rquires at the mimimum 2.5gb or 3gb to run properly, I think you are better off with 32bit.....just my 0.02

Update: I just noticed you only have 1gb of RAM...I would not load 64bit on that for nothing.......I am not even sure if it will even load....personally I think you are wasting your advice: upgrade to 2gb and load 32bit Win 7

If you have a legal copy of Win7 x64, then by all means go ahead and use it, but I would upgrade to 2GB RAM first. Even the 32-bit Win7 likes 2GB better. I tend to recommend the x64 version of Windows for any system that can reasonably run it nowadays.
