Default Playback with Dell GX10N External DVD Drive - 06-16-2011, 04:59 PM

Today I figured Iwould try playing a DVD via the external GX10N DVD drive. I have Roxio Cine Player v3.9(included with the drive)

While it loads up and plays movies fine DVD playback is not as smooth as I would like, I notice very slight split second pauses/glitchs during movie playback which is mildly irritating.

Is this normal when using the external Dell DVD drive?

Any better sloutions for DVD playback?

One idea I had was to put my 250Gb Scorpio Black hard drive into a external enclosure and load movies onto it for playback (although I am not sure how to properly do it)

Is this a viable solution for smoother DVD playback?

I have a Samsung external DVD drive with VLC media player and there are no pauses or glitches. VLC can be downloaded for free. Google it.

Also, it would be a good idea to shutdown any unnecessary programs to lessen the load on the processor.
