A normal VGA cable will get you video. If you've bought an LCD monitor at any time, you should have one somewhere.
If the TV connector is a 3.5mm (1/8") "headphone" input, then you need an "audio patch cable" to get audio. "3.5mm male to male" is the phrase to search for to find the right cable.

You probably want at least a 6ft cable. Longer probably won't help (since your VGA cable will probably be 6ft or so).
EDIT: I'll add that I've hooked my 1012 up to 1080p HDTVs frequently to play videos via a VGA cable and an audio cable. I use 64bit Linux, but I expect XP or Win7 work too.
