If this is in fact the 1012, has anyone connected theirs to an HDTV via VGA? How does full screen Hulu or Netflix perform on a large display? My TV is 32" and has a VGA input as well as a 3.5" stereo input. Here's the link: Dell Inspiron Mini 10 HD Netbook - Wireless from AT&T I know it's sketchy when someone signs up to a forum and posts a link to a web store of some kind, but I'm just supplying the link for reference. |

It comes with Windows 7 Starter and Office 2010 Starter editions that have Word and Excel. Of course, it comes with a 3G HSDPA board for mobile broadband. It does not have the TV tuner as all of the available mini pci-e slots are taken up. As others have said, it does not have bluetooth installed, but it can be added since the connector for the module is on the board. Also, the bottom half of the case is black instead of the standard white that you get from the Dell website. I upgraded mine to Windows 7 Home Premium to get the Aero desktop enhancements and added the better Synaptecs touchpad driver that enables two-finger scrolling. It works great and I don't have any complaints. Chris |

I did some reading and found something about the TV not supporting interlaced or something. Not sure what it means exactly, but even if I used VGA, I don't think it would be able to output a very large resolution. I use computers for writing, web browsing, music, trying to learn how to code, and watching Hulu through my HDTV almost every night (I don't have cable TV). I don't think the 1012 is going to work out. Thanks a lot for your responses. Now I can simply refuse the package at the door rather than open it,activate it, test it and end up trying to return it. I wish AT&T had the m101z for a penny. I'd be all over that. EDIT: Hold on a second...: I was going to sell my desktop for a capable netbook or small laptop, but I might keep if it if this will be possible: Can I control my desktop PC running Windows 7 Ultimate with my netbook running Windows 7 Starter or at most, Home Premium? I'm a little bit familiar with remote desktop connections, but I thought that was more for file sharing... but does it actually allow you to CONTROL the other computer? |

Software is as mentioned above. AT&T's site lists it as having the Bluetooth module (see attached) but mine didn't come with it. More on principle than anything else I've been haggling with them for almost 4 months about. They've shipped me 5 laptops since they "agree" it's supposed to come with a Bluetooth adapter but not one has had it. My last call with them was last week when their "commitment" team was supposed to call me back the next day to "resolve" this once and for all. My phone hasn't rang with them on the other end. I'm tempted to continue the fight but is it really worth it for $40? ![]() Of course their site now has changed to remove that little tidbit. |
