Default Dell Mini 1012 upgrade WWAN 3G - 01-12-2011, 08:32 PM

Dear all,

I own a Dell Mini 1012 (HD, Broadcom, WLAN, Bluetooth) which without the WWAN option. I already purchased a 5540 WWAN card, drivers installed and it works fine for both, GPS and WWAN with the SIM card in the SIM slot.

Unfortunately, my Dell Mini 1012 came without the WWAN/GPS antenna (yes, SIM slot is installed and works) installed so I could only check the card with antennas wired to it externally (non Dell antennas wired through the SD card slot for testing).

No I purchased two antennas on ebay, one has the number DC33000H200 on it, the other is DC33000H210. Both have two cables.

Does anyone have a clue where to install the antennas in the display cover and how to wire? Anyone has a photo from an existing installation showing location and wiring?

Thanks in advance!

I dunno about the OEM WWAN setup. My 1012 is a base model.

Too bad.
There's so many photos of dismantled 1012s around but none of the display assembly carrying the antennas. Maybe anyone with such photo around here?

The antennas I got have part numbers DC33000H200 and DC33000H210 on their labels. Google does not know those part numbers. Someone around here?
Thanks for any hint!
