Default LCD replacement advice? 1012-1018 - 01-08-2011, 01:25 AM

Bought my daughter the 1018 for Christmas and she is in love with it. Unfortunately, in a bizarre accident, the cat cracked the LCD. I noted this thread on the 1012 forum:

Upgrade LCD from 1024x600 to 1366x768

And I am wondering if this 1366x768 LCD would work in the 1018?

FWIW, the part number for the LCD is 01650X (WSVGA)

Thanks for any help.

1012 and 1018 seem to share the same hardware (processor is different). I would say that it will work fine.

If you got it just a few weeks ago fro Christmas you may still be able to add a complete care warranty. I think it is now just called an "Advanced" warranty. It covers accidental damage like spills and broken screens. Might be more cost effective then buying a new display?

Good luck to you.

I was able to replace the screen with the upgraded screen. It's very nice!
