If you use the recovery method then you will lose everything like I said before, the way you should do it is to do a USB install either from an external DVD drive or from a flash/thumbdrive....there are programs as below to do it by a USB flashdrive..if you dont have one I suggest buying one (they come in handy for other stuff too)....get an 8gb USB Flashdrive (4gb will work but its cutting it close)

This will create a bootable Windows installation on a flashdrive and then you can go into the system BIOS on the Mini and enable "Legacy USB", that will allow the unit to boot from the USB flashdrive, format the c: partition and re-load windows (which ever version you put on the flashdrive..XP or Win7..it doesnt matter)..do a search on this forum here...you are not the first one to do this....(and wont be the last either) this method will keep your data on the d: partition...your other choice is to use the recovery method which WILL DESTROY EVERYTHING and reload the system just as the unit was out of the box.....
