Default Keyboard Issue - 09-15-2010, 03:06 PM

I have been typing for about 40 years and on my 1012 this is the first time this has ever happened.

When I am typing, cursor jumps up about 2 - 4 lines. It usually happens when I typed 3 or 4 lines. And from what I can tell it usually lands in about the same place.

Is it me?

Michael

I read of a similar symptom in another forum and it ended up the cause was something pressing on the touchpad. Might that be your issue as well?

Set up your touchpad sensitivity.

I have tried every setting or combination of setting for my DellMini 1012 available- nothing so far prevents the cursor from moving around or makes for a smooth scroll. I also tried a small utility called TouceFreeze that disables the touchpad when typing> doesn't work on Mini. but works on lapatop.

Doing something that should take a minute or less will take several minutes on the mini. I would prefer to use the touchpad rather than a mouse if possible, but so far, I just don't use the mini!

I bought it to use but so far I wasted the money. It was new, from Dell. I did have to have the keyboard replaced because thwe G key didn't function. Now I'm wondering if the touchpad is bad also.

Has anyone found a cure for this or documentation that these touchpads don't work? I am an experienced computer user but this has escaped me so far.
