Default charging the battery question - 07-02-2010, 03:52 AM

got a 1012 to take on our upcoming cruise- surprised to see that the AC charger has a three pronged cord- unlike my mini 9 which uses a polarized two prong plug.
The available outlets in the stateroom are two pronged. Can I pick up an adapter to allow me to take the 1012 along? would there be damage to the unit if I used the adapter?

Yes, you can use an adapter. No, there won't be damage. I have never figured out why some power supplies have grounded plugs when the output is just DC.

Of my three Mini's, two cords are 2 prong, and one is three prong. I like the three prong best because it's got an LED on the Mini side plug.
I carry this one with my because it fit's better in powerstrips, it doesn't block other plugs.
Are the chargers the same between the 9 and 1012, ie. the output, polarity, plug? Just bring your 9's charger if so.
