Default Streaming Video - 06-24-2010, 05:49 AM

I'm looking to buy the base model Mini 1012, no HD or upgraded graphics card. I'm basically looking to use it for basic internet and watching streams of NFL games and UFC cards. These aren't very high quality streams and are usually on sites like Justin TV, veetle, and sopcast. My main concern is that the video will be choppy and I just want to make sure that the video will be smooth on the base mini 1012.

I have a 1012 with the Broadcom car and I have difficulty streaming video from the internet... it can be very choppy.

It can however play 720p mp4 files from my Sanyo Xacti perfectly smooth, so it could be something to do with the player that is used on the web. Youtube is hopeless.

This is one of the reasons I plunked down jing for a new M11x, my Mini 9 and 1010 are both choppy playing back Netflix and watching recorded TV via Media Center from my desktop. Although, my Hackintosh'd 1011 does Netflix nicely.
I'd say try an 11z or a Hackintosh'd 1011 (10v)

I have a mini 1012 with the basic setup (no broadcom card) and the only upgrade is a 2gb memory and bluetooth.

Runs my netflix movies great and watch them all the time when I'm on the road and don't want to pay $15 for a hotel movie but want some entertainment before bed.

Default Streaming with Mini 1012 - 07-03-2010, 09:13 PM

I also have the base model Mini 1012 and I stream Netflix with no issues. I have upgraded to 2gb ram. This is a great little netbook!

Same here. Netflix is pretty great for my on my 1012. The feed is high quality, and there is no choppiness.

Hulu is a different story. It's not even worth the trouble.
