Default Re-installing Windows XP on Mini 1012 - 04-16-2010, 07:35 PM

I got a Dell Mini 1012, and I'm trying to wipe it, and install Windows XP Pro.
The problem is that XP setup doesn't seem to detect the internal hard drive...
Anyone know how I can get it to work?

I just tried changing the SATA setting in the BIOS, and that worked.

You can either go into your bios and switch the SATA mode from AHCA to ATA, or get the driver for the SATA controller off the dell support site and use that while installing XP. It can be complicated.

I did it using the following trick:
How to enable AHCI : Windows XP Expertester

Works like a charm ;-)
