Default Dell credit for wireless card mistakes!! - 04-12-2010, 06:47 AM

I got a suprize email from and two credits for $27.06 for my two recent Dell 1012 purchases.

"We recently discovered that the order information for your new system shows a Wireless HB95.11N Card included. That option was not available when your order was placed and your system included the DELL 1397 802.11A/G card. We apologize for this error.

Because of this error we have arranged for a credit to your original form of payment in the amount of $25.00. Please allow up to 30 days for this credit to be reflected on your bank statement. We hope that your new system otherwise meets your expectations. However, if you wish to return your system because of this error, please contact us at 1-800-624-9897."

I got in on the buy a dell 1012 for $249 and get a second for $149. I purchased through and have $42.80 pending cash back. So combine the $42.80 plus $54.16 and I got an awsome deal. Two dell 1012's for about $300. Now that is a slickdeal.

To sweaten the deal tech support sent me two replacement 1510 wifi-n cards and a HD screen to replace my screen with dead pixel.

If you have recieved the wrong parts call Dell and get them to fix the issue and press for a partial refund.

Good luck.

you are better off with the 1510 card than the HB95, some have had problems with with the HB95 cards not connecting at higher speeds (only 150 instead of 300) on certain routers, the 1510 card is a very good card.....just surprised that they didnt send the newer 1520 card (I think that the 1520 has upgraded firmware on it)...but you did alright anyway......congrats.......
