Thank you so much! My husband does not understand or share my need to have so many laptops/gadgets so when I approached him about possibly getting the 1012, his response was, "You just got that little red thing a year ago!" Ummmm.
He asked me if I needed
it, and I paused real hard and decided I'd been lugging my 15"-ers everywhere for the past decade. I told him, "I didn't really NEED
it, but the red one wasn't the best fit for what I needed it to do." He rolled his eyes but said I could order one if I wanted to and if I tried to find a home for the mini 9. Sigh.
If I order one, I need to be sure it's gonna do the job I need it to do cuz there's NO way in H-E-Double Hockeysticks he's gonna let me order another one for a LONG, LONG, LONG, LONG time
I don't expect it to perform exactly like my 1520. I just need to be able to use my aircard (which if it doesn't, I still have the 1520 to use it on), run my genealogy software (The Master Genealogist), do basic web page design, and do word processing that's compatible with Word 2007. It would be nice if it could power my USB Canon scanner, but I don't know how much of a drain that would be. I'm attracted to its size and weight as I can take a bit of weight off my back and gain more space compared to the 1520. More battery life then a couple hours is also a bonus.
Thank you again for your comments. It sounds like I should see an improvement with everything but the processor, then? Sad thing is that the $244 price tag is half of what I paid for my mini 9...It's great and awful at the same time.
