Default Hard Drive on 1012 Question - 03-06-2010, 09:13 PM

I got a 1012 this week and have a question about the hard drive.
So my mini 10 came with the standard 160 gig hd. I was fully expecting some of the hard drive to used with the OS and bloatware etc.....

So when i looked at the properties It says 139 gigs with 9 already used. Leaving me with 130. I am assuming that Dell partitioned the hard drive. I also assume they made the partition invisible. WTF did they load on it to take up 21 gigs of space?

If anyone knows i'd be grateful.

First off, 160 metric GB = 149 binary GB, so you "lose" 11 GB just based on the different in units.
Next, the recovery partition probably takes up around 10GB. That matches with the 139GB you see.

If you want to see exactly how big the recovery partition is, run "Disk Management".
