Yeah I think this is it, I'm sure if they advertised a spare slot it would encourage more people to buy it and they'd make more money with the extra sales from base units then the money they make from the pre-configured upgrades .

Depends how much they make on a base unit I guess.

I agree. Thanks. I'm going to upgrade the memory to 2 gig and want to swap the 1397 card for a 1510.

Was there any secret to getting the palm rest off?

Thanks,

Gary

thanks.
It's the same touchpad as the 10v (it's a synaptics touchpad with the same firmware version too).

That's enough for me to not want one. I cannot stand any of the 10's touchpads. I suppose you can get used to it, but I hate working on them. I bought the latitude 2100 for just this very reason.

The touchpad is actually pretty good if you use synaptics touchpad driver instead of the one dell includes. You can adjust pretty much anything (such as two finger scrolling, tap on the lower right for right clicking, etc).

Default just curious.... - 02-01-2010, 05:34 PM

This is a little on a tangent, but does Dell have something unique here (see pic) My Dell external isn't powered by one usb, but a usb y cable.....any thoughts?

Unique? No. My LG USB DVD drive uses a single cable. The Y is used when the drive takes more power than one USB outlet can provide. Heck, I saw an Acer (I think) wireless DVD drive packaged with a netbook. I don't know which wireless technology it used.
