Thank you Hironimo!
I got mine yesterday, use windows update anytime and upgrade it to home premium and so far it's been great. I installed all of my gears (codec, adobe, nero......) and the speed is very acceptable even though I came down from core 2 dual laptop. will try Media center and clone it to my 320gb harddrive. Plan on getting 2g Ram. Does anyone have reference for a good Ram for this unit?

overall I like the speed and function of it but not quite satisfy with the way the monitor design.

If it's what I saw in the pictures, it's the TV antenna jack.

See here: http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/dell...ram-specs.html
for comments about an upgrade to 2GB of ram.

Great pictures, I might be replacing my Mini 9 with one of these.

Can you install a SSD drive and remove the SATA 5400rpm that comes with it?

Sure - any 2.5" SATA SSD should work.

I meant something like MDD Runcore drives.

Sure - the 2.5" models. The 1012 doesn't take the little MiniPCIe cards like the 9.

I can confirm they left out the PCIe slots on the mini 1012 that was not ordered with the mobile broadband option. There is a place for them, but the piece to actually connect the cards is missing.

There is only (1) 1/2 size PCIe slot for the wifi card. On that note, you can use the 802.11n cards that worked in the mini 10v in these as well. I have also confirmed that the 667mhz ram works, but would recommend sticking with 800Mhz ram for speed improvements.

There won't be any speed difference - the RAM will be run at 667MHz.
