Default Don't Bother with Dell or the Mini 10 - 06-23-2009, 02:26 AM

I have been waiting 5 weeks for my Dell Mini 10, and it has been pushed back 3 times! Customer Service has been horrible. I can't cancel the order because I used a gift certificate taht Dell won't credit if I cancel. The customer service reps can't do ANYTHING for me.

I will NEVER buy a Dell product again, nor will I recommend it to anyone - and I'm a shareholder (though not for long). If you are considering any Dell - you should reconsider and purchase ANYTHING ELSE from ANYONE ElSE!

Sorry for the rant - but I am a very patient customer and have had nothing but trouble from Dell.

That's terrible

I had the same issue - took over a month to have it shipped. The ETA was pushed back until late July (I ordered in May) until I called and made a fuss. It took 3 calls to customer service and 2 calls to sales to get it moving. They should be able to cancel and place a new order. If one rep can't help you, best to try another. Also, they sometimes send you to different departments and say they cannot help. Make them send you an e-mail stating that and forward it to the other rep. They can work it out among themselves, that's not your job.

It was faster for me to cancel and place a new order than wait the old one out. Had it within 2 weeks of placing the new order, got a free upgrade, and expedited shipping free. Ended up saving about $40 from the deal.

Good luck!

Email Michael Dell's office; It'll be handed to a higher level rep and you're more likely to get a resolution.

This is what I will have to say about Dell.

1. Customer Service - Complete horse sh*t! Bring the support back to the US and stop outsourcing it to another country. This is not about racism, I am Asian myself, but American companies needs to keep support in America. I know many of my Asian friends has accents and it's a PAIN to understand over the phone, so I FEEL for everyone dealing with this issue. Everytime I've called for support, I was transferred back and forth 12-15 times until I just hang up. I understand Dell is trying to cut cost, but this kind of support is just ridiculous. I'd be happy if Dell had ONE American support person working in the basement!

2. I love the products and fast shipping.

So, what trouble have you had? besides a delay in getting a computer built? Crap happens, Dell is building more than just your little computer you know.
