To get the TV Tuner to work under Windows 7 I installed the following drivers of the Drivers disk:
R214966.EXE 5/5/2009 8:11:17 PM 1,691 kb Hauppauge Internal ATSC DRVR XP
R215050.EXE 5/5/2009 8:11:49 PM 1,634 kb Hauppauge Internal DVB-T DRVR XP 32 & 64 Bit

I did NOT install the CyberLink software instead I used Windows Media Center. It works fine.
Just curious, have you tried using the mini10 with Windows 7 Media Center as a PVR/DVR? I'm really just curious as to how well the atom single core holds up to OTA content. That'd be recording/watching a previous recording/live tv.

I've been thinking of building myself what is essentially a ATSC-to-Analog Converter with DVR functionality based off the Atom 330 D945GCLF2 board from intel and either Windows 7 MC or Mythbuntu as Backend/Frontend.

Default Missing Antenna - 06-29-2009, 11:37 PM

I also spoke with Dell.. Had to go through the merry go round of people.. Finally the Tech Support Manager came on and assured me it was in the mail.. We'll see.. I pushed and pushed to get a dell part number without success.

UPDATE - Received a call from Dell Tech Support manager today and he indicated that they do not have stock and will ship antenna once they do - said a week (seem like the typical answer when they do not know).. Still waiting. -gh

I have not done a lot. However, I did find that trying to watch and record at the same time runs the CPU near 100% utilization and Physical Memory usage is runs near 100%. Recording without actually watching TV is much better. The CPU runs around 60 to 80 percent and when you play it back, it looks very good. The issues seems to be make sure you keep the available memory as high as possible. If we could get 2 gigs of ram, I think most of the problems would go away.

I finally got an email from dell saying that they would ship me the connector and external antenna. The wording indicates a form letter that completely ignores the fact that I've been complaining about this for over a week, sending various emails to customer service. I would expect everyone to be getting this notification / email soon.
----------
Dear Dell Customer,

Thank you for your recent order for a Mini 10 Netbook

Unfortunately, your Inspiron Mini 10 Netbook shipped without the corresponding external TV antenna and adapter accessories.

To resolve this issue, Dell will dispatch the external TV antenna and adapter accessories to the shipping address that was on your original order. We expect them to arrive within the next 17-21 business days.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Dell

I should of clarified, that is exactly what I do/intend to do. Watch recorded TV after it has been recorded by Media Center 7 or Mythbuntu. I'll have to toss the system together after the 9th of July. Get it ready for Fall TV Season.

I've read alot about cable TV and tuners, quick question. Do you use Analog, aka Basic Cable? No digital services? If you use Digital services do you have a settop box for them? I'd have to see the specs of the Dell TV Tuner but I suspect it may only do ATSC Over-The-Air broadcasts, and Analog CABLE TV. The type you plug in from your wall directly to your TV. Which might, MIGHT, mean you are outta luck with Cable TV. Hopefully though you can get it to work. One last stupid question, did you scan? Some people may not realize that you have to scan for channels, I'm not saying you would do this, just being sure.

Edit:
Just did a quick Yahoo search for Dell Mini 10 TV Tuner Specs and from Gizmodo.com it sounds like the TV Tuner in the Mini 10 is only an ATSC tuner. What that means is you will only be able to get TV Stations broadcast over the air, or OTA. These will be ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, PBS, and the CW, plus whatever their .2-3 stations are. Unless I am incorrect, which is if I am someone correct me, you will not be able to get Cable TV with this Tuner.
