Default Plans For Your Dell 10/10v? - 06-05-2009, 12:45 PM

Hi guys, what's the craic?

My 10v arrived today, the UK version with the 8GB SSD drive. I ordered a free 3G dongle off some website and it arrived the other day so will be going wireless out and about with this. Pity it doesn't have this function built in.

Had it delivered to work so haven't had a chance to use it yet. Busting to get home! The manual says to charge it up for 12hours before taking it off AC power - did everyone else do this?

Also I was going to get a USB FM transmitter so I can load this up and stream MP3s in the car. Anyone else tried this on the Linux system?

Anyways what will/do yo do with yours?

I plan to get a 32GB SSD when the price comes down. Going to look about another gig of RAM ASAP. Will use thisout and about, network troubleshooting and general anti-boredom measures such as movies on a plane and whatnot.

Won't be able to buy mine for a little while (and in the meantime, I'm hoping Dell adds some more upgrade options, like a 32GB SSD or a larger screen), but when I do, it'll be a hackint0sh that I'll be using as a presenter (as in, take it to conferences and give Keynote presentations off of it) and, far into the future, as a thin client for accessing and managing numerical simulations off of the souped-up Linux workstation I hope to one day afford.
