Default 320 gig wd scorpion black - 06-02-2009, 12:35 AM

well i just upgraded the hard drive on my 10v... the keyboard was super easy to get off. i replaced the stock 120gig 5400 rpm drive with the scorpion black 7200 rpm drive. the machine booted up and registered the hard drive just fine. i installed windows 7 rc1 and ran the system test. the hard drive scored 5.9. im running a battery test now to see how long it lasts with normal usage.

Default seagate - 06-05-2009, 03:34 AM

Anyone tried one of the new seagate laptop drives that are claiming the lowest power consumption ever by a conventional 2.5" drive? Was going to purchase one for my upgrade but apparently newegg is suddenly out of stock

I swapped in a SEAGATE 7200 pm 160 gb drive in my 10V, didn't see ant noticeable increase in speed over the stock 5200 rpm , 120 gb drive.
