Thanks a lot for your suggestions - I'm going to try CCCP codec as soon as I have the time to install it. It's true that the image quality is very nice on the mini 10.

What I'd like to know is what you are getting for the streaming video, like Youtube (HQ or HD) as well as other sites. I use Flashplayer 10, is that the best choice ?

Thanks again, Saxo

Default CCCP Codec - 06-13-2009, 12:46 AM

What is CCCP Codec? Where do I get it from, so I can install it. Will this help streaming video? Thanks

I'm no expert, but this link should explain : Combined Community Codec Pack
Concerning video streaming, I also don't know whether installing a codec set will help.

I found CCP to work the same as K-Lite and Core AVC. I was able to get smooth playback on the mini I picked up from the outlet and sold but not my new one. I'm wondering if my clean install of XP made the difference. Going to play around with codec's, etc tonight. I really didn't want to have to do a re-install :-/

I just got a mini 10 because it had HDMI. I have no audio (except from the mini 10). Have you had any luck solving this issue?

My hdmi port works just fine (to a lcd tv screen) but I haven't found how to get the sound to go to the tv either. Will work on it though. Cheers.

Just reduced my computer's res to 800x600 instead of 13 x 768 and it played without any dropped frames. So not helpful -_-

Default Installed 'new' gma 500 driver - 06-22-2009, 08:05 PM

I very recently installed the chipset and GMA driver from the DELL support site : version 6.14.10.1095 which I assume is the most recent. However I got no observable change in the video performance.

Maybe it's not the right one ? (the driver mentioned in New Intel GMA 500 drivers finally show its potential is not at the DELL support page, hmmm).

I downloaded 6.14.10.1098 from the Asus site.

I saw that new article too. Do you think it's worth it to switch to Win 7 for that driver? I thought XP would have the best chance at playing HD content. Not sure though.

Hi, my feeling is to wait for DELL to come out with the new driver (I'm going to contact the support site for more questions). As for windows 7, I was under the impression that, although running great on the 10v, that there were problems with the 1010.

Personally, I don't have the time right now to upgrade to win 7. Cheers. Saxo.
