Yea - in hind sight (isn't that always the case??!! ) I should have gone with the 9, but I need a larger HDD as I use the netbooks as a test platform and work on the go, home, etc. As well - I manage my own websites - so light, portable access is a *must*.. As I write this, the Asus 1000HE has 2GB with that 320GB/7200 drive in it that I originally bought for "souping" up the Dell and has a "quad boot" (the original drop of XP along with Vista/SP1, Win 7 RC1 and Server 2008).. It's an amazing little device.. My Acer One is their new version (10" screen) witha again 2GB and another 320GB/7200 drive. My Dell Mini 10 - unfortunately isn't in that class for performance - nor, from what I understand - in the same class as the Mini 9.. Best to you! John |

Admittedly, I'm a computer geek and I have lower expectations from this box, and use it for rather menial tasks. It's a perfect "bedside" laptop for me. |

I am running xp now and want to know if 7 is gonna be ok. those statements about 'mini 10' not compatible with win7 don't make any sense to me. most likely they don't know what they are doing. | |

I can't seem to do it from both bootup or while in Windows XP (to install on a different partition) I run the Windows 7 installed, all seems to be working until it says "Windows could not update the computer's boot configuration. Installation cannot proceed". I've tried the registry patch that Microsoft have, but it still doesn't work. Any ideas of how to get it installed on it? |
