10v trackpad button solution [partial] - 11-01-2009, 01:43 PM
My fix is two layers of Scotch Matte Finish Magic tape ... with the first layer covering about 1.1 cm, and the second layer covering about .9 cm, both of these measurements from the bottom edge of the trackpad. It doesn't completely eliminate the cursor-moves-when-I-try-to-click problem, but it definitely makes it much less of an issue and distraction.
I simply layed the tape over the trackpad, with excess tape on the palmrest, and then used a good-quality razor-sharp utility knife to carefully trim away the excess tape so that the thin channel that runs around the trackpad was not covered. Works. Be careful with the utility knife, as you definitely don't want too much downward pressure.
I am happy with the keyboard, since it is larger than that on the Mini9. I experienced a sort of learning/adjustment curve to working with the Mini9 as well, which has served me very faithfully since March of this year.
