Default Why would anyone buy this? [right now] - 02-28-2009, 06:35 AM

I don't really understand it. I mean I understand brand loyalty/comfort and I understand the way Dell fills a sense of safety for pc-buyers, but the Mini 10 is such a bad deal compared to others on the market like the Asus 1000HE.

I'm planning on getting the 1000HE now and waiting until the mini 10 is less $$, 2gb or more, windows 7 and has a tv tuner and/or gps

1000HE = 1024 x 600 = Epic Failure.

Save your money for when the "good" Mini10 comes out - chances are, you'll need it.

There's nothing wrong with that resolution. And a big part of the reason I want the 1000HE is that it's only $345.
Again, I don't think I'm going to buy a Mini 10 until probably 9 months from now.

The only reason I don't own any particular netbook is because of that crappy low-resolution. This is the reason why the Mini10 excites me. There's also the new Sony P-Series, which IMO is a much nicer piece than the Mini10 will ever be, but they can keep it for $899+...

Well the main factor for me has been price. The resolution doesn't bother me but please tell me you're going to wait for waaay better features

cuz at $60 more than the Asus, it's a piece of junk right now

Yeah, I am definitely waiting. I do agree, it's pretty lame right in its current state. At this point, the only thing that make it worth picking up, if anything, is the keyboard and screen.
