Default Motherboard replacement for Mini 1010 - 05-21-2012, 08:25 PM

I was given a dead Mini 1010 not too long ago. When powered on, the backlight on the display comes on, but nothing else happens. Replacing the motherboard I think is a good place to start.

The existing board is labelled with part # KIU10 LA-4762P. From what I see on ebay, there appears to be different versions of this model board. They're listed as such: W851K LA-4762P KIU10; 0C970P LA-4762P KIU10; and CN-0F626M - LA-4762P. I'm hoping someone can give me some insight into the differences if there are any.

I found this website while researching the problem, and have learned quite a bit about the Mini. Thanks for the help.

I would open it up and first check cables, connectors etc before buying new parts.

Thanks cct1,

I've gutted it twice to check and recheck connections. I'm pretty confident it's a bad piece of hardware.

That's the plan. Just trying to make sure I don't limit myself by picking up the wrong MB.
