Default Mini 1010 hi-res, lid sensor - 04-11-2012, 01:56 PM

I actually have 3 of these hi-res 1010s, and all 3 will occasonally loose the screen...and is sensitive to the angle of the mini ( lift the front of the base to tilt it back and the screen returns...let it down and it disappears again ). It apparently thinks the lid is closed...as you can see the power light indicate that. I'll close the lid and reopen it and it will sometime wake up and resume. I'm guessing the lid sensor is in the display assy somewhere, but the service manual basically treats the display as a swapout thing only. Anyone else experienced this and dealt with it ?

In your situation, I would reconfigure the power properties so that closing the lid does nothing. I believe that the lid closing sensor is a magnetic one near the top right of the screen, so unless it gets near being closed, it can't really malfunction...unless maybe you are getting some other magnet near the sensor in the base. Reconfiguring would make this all moot.

Good idea...I'll try that as a test.

Actually, I had already set that...so I must have thought of that back then...still does it on occasion, so an odd mystery still.
