Question The product key doesn't actually work... - 02-26-2011, 03:04 PM

As the title mentions, I can't finish the setup on MS Word because the product key on the sticker underneath is wrong.. Is this the right product key (because it's the only one i could find amongst all the packaging)?

Any ideas fellas???

The key on the bottom of the Mini is for Windows only.

the only version of MS Word/Office that comes with the Mini's I believe is a 60 day trial after which you must PAY for it, depending on the version wanted it could range from $150/$200(USD) Upgrades up to about $500/$600(USD) Full Versions, like Steve said the bottom sticker is only for Windows that is installed... which is the OEM will not work on any other version of Windows either (ie. Retail Versions), in other words if your system came with Windows XP, that number will not work for Windows 7 and even if your system came with Windows 7 Starter that number will not work for Windows 7 Ultimate..MS has this stuff locked up pretty tight..

I recommend Open Office Productivity Suite as an alternate product for those that do not want to keep or pay for MS Office. It's free. - The Free and Open Productivity Suite
