Default Dual Boot - WiFi Connection Speed Slower in Windows 7 - 01-14-2011, 10:35 PM

I dual boot XP Pro and Win 7 Ultimate and have the Dell 1510 card, latest drivers.

In XP connection speed is 130 Mbps in Windows 7 54 Mbps and I can't figure out why.

The network diagnostic tool can't find anything wrong.

Ideas anyone?

Ignore folks...I had blindly let Windows Update install a Broadcomm 802.11n driver which obviously was a regression from the one in the sticky at the top of the 1010 section.

Once I reinstalled the WLAN driver from there I'm back to normal.

Lesson learned. That driver offering is now a 'hidden update'.

I've never figured out why Windows would regress drivers but it's certainly not the first time I've seen it happen.
