Default Help with Mini 10 (1010) - 11-08-2010, 01:58 AM

My screen cracked and I'm trying to replace it. There are several tutorials out there that say to remove the keyboard, hard drive, etc. and then remove the screen. Is this really necessary ? Why not just disassemble the screen and leave those parts in place ? Also, there are screens of different models for the mini 10. Are they compatible ? For example, if I buy one for the Mini 1018, will it fit the Mini 1010 ? Thanks for your help.

It's usually necessary because you can't get to everything without removing those things. You cannot assume that displays for a different model will fit or work.

PS. Welcome to the forum...

Its funny the service manual tells you how to remove/replace the 2 in 1 Memory/Processor board, but yet they wont sell you one
