Default Heat questions - 08-26-2010, 07:21 PM

Will I have problems with overheating if I close the lid on my 1010 while using an external monitor?

I'm mainly worried about ruining the LCD from too much heat...

Would a chill mat help things out in this case? Never had any experience with them.

Yeah she's running about 180 degrees with the room temp being 92 degrees and the lid shut!

I'm gonna run by the store and give one of those things a try, thanks!

I use a cooler and it certainly helps keep the base cooler, but heat travels up, not down so I think that keeping the lid closed will contain the heat and still create problems.

If air is forced through the vents, it might help some, I may buy one to test it, and return it if it doesn't end up helping...
