Exclamation Replacing Spacebar - 07-03-2010, 05:55 PM

Whilst typing the other day there my spacebar suddenly decided to pop off, bringing the casing caps and metal retainers with it. I've tried everything I can think of to get it back on but it's proving difficult and I don't want to do too much in case I do any damage.

Can anyone advise me on how to put it back without breaking it?

If its like most keyboards, you usually put the little spring mechanism down first and then you align the key and push down until it snaps.

If you laptop is still under warranty then Dell will send you out a brand new replacement keyboard for you to replace. Can be handy to keep the old one for spares if it happens again, or you can sell the old one on ebay

Loving my Streak!
