Bios A11, OS XP Pro SP3 x86. Bluetooth enabled in BIOS yet no Bluetooth to be found, unless I use a 3rd party USB dongle.
I thought this model came equipped with a Bluetooth card installed?
On the off-chance the existing card , if any, has failed I've bought a new one on eBay. I couldn't even find one on Dell's website, so much for their parts and upgrades. All that offers me are replacement graphics cards or a USB modem.
I can't call for replacement service because I've wiped the original OS off the face of the Earth and installed my own from Technet and also merged the rescue partition into my main drive, thereby voiding my warranty, I assume.
I normally use my Alienware desktop but I like the notebook when I travel and would love to be able to use some
BT with it without employing dongles.
I should add that Bluetooth is pretty unique in that one can install the drivers and have Bluetooth in the Device Manager, and in the taskbar, albeit glowing red, even though no "device" is installed, or in my case, maybe present but wont work.
Thoughts anyone before I pluck up the courage to take it apart?
Edit: I've been told that perhaps
BT was NOT included on earlier Mini 10's?
