@rrfranczak3 - i have a.) the original lid, and b.) premium onsite support through my work...oracle... but at the end of the day, i know i've voided the warranty on this groovy little machine in any number of ways. the only upside is that i know the onsite repair tech because he's been out like 25 times to repair various machines, and when the mb needed replacing on this one... not saying that i bent a pin while attempting an upgrade or anything, but ... when he came out, i actually swapped the motherboard with my own tools and the part he brought out. LOL. he had never seen a mini, so...well .... there you go.

think I will have to give this a go. Just happen to have some extra epoxy resin in the shed. Nice work, I'll be back with lots of questions once I get this started

@nwcrew, fire away, maybe i can answer some quesions!

and

@rrfranczak3 - i know what you're saying. i don't think the normal onside or mail-in warranty person will let it pass if you have taken the dremel to your machine, hence the repeated statement, that .... at it's current state, i am certain that the warranty is voided. be sure to ...a. put the original w7 drive back in, remove the extra ram and replace the modded case before trying to get warranty service on this great little machine.

other than that, i have to admit that i really like this little machine, and am very proud to whip it out on the train and fuss around on it.

hope your experiences are similar!

@dreyeeek:
I know what you mean. When you first take the dremel to the machine, you realize you can't UNdo it!
But it was surprisingly easy, the only pain of it was switching the lids out, since every single screw in the laptop needs to be taken out and put back in - correctly - with no "extra" pieces when its done! LOL

but if you send me your laptop i will fix you up for a small fee!

No need to be such a perfectionist, just consider them "bonus" pieces.

@kuoH - >< LOL - i have a whole special box of 'bonus pieces' from various dell machines. seems they didn't need those pieces to run anyway. Dell is just wasteful!
