Default Sudden Death of Dell Mini running OS X - 03-25-2010, 03:31 PM

So I left my 1010 in my office for a few hours while it was on and logged in to OS X. I went to go use it and it was blank, so i thought the battery was just dead because OS X could never sleep or standby on the mini. I went inside, plugged it in, hit the power and the sleep light just flashes for a moment, then nothing.

no screen reaction. no sign of life whatsoever. if i hold the power button the light will start to flash twice very quickly over and over, like: blink-blink.....blink-blink....

anyone have any idea what could've happened? im totally stumped.. cheers.

you could try this:

From Dell Support: Remove AC and Battery, push power for 20 secs, put back AC and Battery, and try to start

Just an idea.....

Cant do no harm........

yea i tried that.. no dice

EDIT: Other things I've tried:
-Left it charging for a while in case it was just really dead. again no luck, battery wasn't even warm, which makes me think maybe it a power problem.
-i thought it might've overheated and fried the motherboard so i took a look under the hood and nothing looked or smelled liked it had been burnt out

oh well, if its still under warranty, I guess the next step is Dell Support....Good Luck

by the way, if you had OSX on it I guess its the 1011 not the 1010, the 1010 doesnt run OSX

maybe thats half your problem there (I mean the OSX part), I have been inside mine too, but only to upgrade the Hard Drive which is allowed
