Default Does Mini 10 run from battery when 100% charged and power connected? - 03-23-2010, 01:25 AM

Hi,

When the battery is 100% charged and the power is still connected does the Mini 10 run from the battery (and constantly recharge it) or does it run from power?

Just wondering if leaving the battery in all the time and the power connected will wear down/reduce battery life?

Cheers

IF the charger is connected it runs the system. If the battery is not fully charged it charges the battery and runs the system.
There are a ton of opinions as to what happens to the battery if it is in the system and fully charged while the charger runs the system. Trouble is I have not heard a compelling explanation as to what it does or does not do to the life of the battery.
I would love to give you a set answer;but to be honest I don't have one nor have I heard one. Myself I let my battery run down to below 10% charge and then fully charge it every two weeks or so. I avoid charging it if it is above 10% charge.
Most of the time I use my system with a fully charged battery and the charger plugged in; so I am running off the charger most of the time.
Is that the best method to prolong battery life. Don't know and probably will never know. But hell; ya got to try something. If you get some info that sounds better then let me know. I'll give it a try.
My system is about a year old and battery life is still about what it was when I bought it. Between 2 and 2 and a 1/2 hours. fdalbor

I always keep the battery inside, it saved my works once when the power went out (damn winds...).
