Default Internal TV Tuner Frustration (UK) - 12-15-2009, 06:10 PM

Hi Guys...I'm really looking for someone to help me here...

I upgraded to Win & Ultimate a few months back and nearly everything is back working again.

My main grip is that I'm trying to get the Happauge internal ATSC tuner swapped out for one that will work in the UK or Europe.

I currently have the drivers from the 1.2c driver package rfom the Happauge website and the drivers seem to be working....however every tuner package i have tried so far will not let me configure the tuner to work as a DVB-T unit....as Dell keep trying to tell me is required.

So....I am searching for a unit that will fit in the place of the existing Happauge tuner...i've heard there is a unit that does dual ATSC and DVB...i would be happy with just a UK one or European coverage. I've asked Dell and they would not tell me what the part is i needed as they can not supply just the part !!!

Any help guys would be REALLY appreciated..

Adrian

Default TV Tuner - 12-16-2009, 06:00 PM

Hi Thank you...

I believe the DVB-T drivers are for a USB external devise...

I have downloaded the drivers but they will not work on the internal card...it only recognises it if i use the ATSC drivers in fact only from the Hauppauge website on Win 7.

I've contacted Hauppauge and Dell both say they do not offer an internal devise for the UK spec...how very stupid...however like normal i refuse to beleive them...i've seem a picture on here somewhere of a devise thats internal i just need to know the make and model to buy it myself.

I've been to the local PC shops and they just look at it with a blank face

grrr

I originally had problems getting my TV to work after I upgraded to W7. I can't guarantee my solution will work for you as I am ATSC, but how I finally got the TV to work was to load the 3 other XP drivers for the TV from the Dell site (there are 5 under Xp and 2 under W7 - the 2 in the W7 area are the same as in XP, leaving 3 different, and I didn't care whether ATSC or DVB-T)

HTH
