I'm still on Windows XP, waiting on 8 to come out before I purchase another Windows licence.

IEGD 10.4 I see is also out on WinXP for some odd reason. I'm currently on 1018, and debating whether to switch. The following are my concerns that I wonder if you guys would have advice for.

First, will IEGD lessen/kill my battery life over the 1018 driver?
Second, will it improve WMP HD performance? I use the Combined Community Codec Pack with WMP, if that helps at all.
Third, is HD YouTube going to be a crapshoot either way without overclocking?
Fourth, I am not concerned about gaming performance at all. Only simple things like RollerCoaster Tycoon and Blizzard classics may be run, if that.
Fifth, multi-monitor support over HDMI. That is all.

Please advise me on which driver to pick, before I commit. My main concern is the battery life, which I don't really have time to test.

I ended up with Intel drivers, I bought a Broadcom Crystal HD card.

I didn't think you could put the Crystal card in a 1010...is there a place for it...it's a great piece of hardware for very little money...$15 on Ebay with free ship. I would do that in a heartbeat if I could....

I can! I replaced the WiFi module, but I don't need it, because I use wired LAN.
I use the IEGD 10.4 and the EMGD1.5.6 drivers and the Overlay Mixer in the PotPlayer on Windows7.
