Take your service tag and go to Dell's support pages to find the original configuration as delivered from the factory.

I had the same problem, had ordered a machine with Bluetooth and it didn't appear in OSX, and didn't appear using Ubuntu NBI Live USB. However, I ended up taking off the keyboard and checking for the actual hardware module, which should have a visible wire running through the hole in the bottom right of the keyboard (bottom left in this picture).

I then had a nice long argument with the reseller I'd bought from, who ended up sending me the module which took about 20 minutes to install (was my first time taking the machine apart that much).

Hope that helps.
