Aszu, I have the non HD screen. My paper work states my native res is 1024x576. The problem is when I used the dell driver, 6/25/2009 ver. 6.14.11.1012, I only had two choices to make; either 800x600 or 1024x768. Both of these options left my display looking lousy. Once I installed this intel driver, the only option I have now is 1024x576, which is perfect! What a difference my screen looks!

Well, this is exactly what I meant Native res of your screen is 1024x576 and you have used 1024x768, which obviously forced rescaling and made everything looking crappy :/

It is very weird that original driver didn't detect proper resolution of your screen. Anyway, I am glad it helped!

i install this on my mini 10 with HD screen. Video is same. HD youtube is bad in full screen as before.
This morning after resuming from hibernate my XP didn't show anything on screen. Open and close the lid few time, unplug AC ( iluminaion of the black changed darker) ... had to push power button for 5seconds and restart. Try again from hibernate same thing.

I've notice that with this driver you cant find "Intel (R) Media Accelerator Driver" tab in display proprieties. I've reinstall driver from dell website (older it say) and all is back to normal.

XP home sp3 on DELL 10 with Atom Z530 here.

Question How to know/guess which IEGD packs contain (Linux) GMA500 drivers please? - 12-23-2009, 05:55 AM

Quote:
"Intel Embedded Graphics Drivers (IEGD)" ... is [a] pack intended for developers, but it also contains the latest driver for GMA500 (10.2.0.1447)....
I extracted this driver from the pack and uploaded it here....
I would like to repeat Aszu's trick for a Dell Mini 10 running Linux. The IEGD page offers several drivers for Linux, but none are marked GMA500 -- just as none of the Windows drivers are marked GMA500. How did you know which pack to download, and within the pack, how did you know to identify the latest dev driver for GMA500?

I apologize if this question reveals my ignorance -- of course I can do some trial and error downloads if necessary (if I need to replace "know" with "guess" in the previous paragraph ), but I'd appreciate whatever direction you could provide to find the right candidate(s) to try.

I realize that this thread seems completely devoted to Windows, but I do hope that there is a Linux driver within IEGD that might give me a similar performance boost. I just need some help knowing where to look for the hidden treasure. How would Intel (be likely to) name the IEGD pack which also contains the GMA500 driver?

Thanks very much!

Hi Guys,

there is also a new Win7 driver (dated 04.01.2010) at the intel website. The version is 5.2.1 and from the readme file it looks like this driver has flash 10.1 support.
So i'm downloading the driver now and will see if this is true.

Greetings Zero
