Despite what Micheal Dell thinks about Netbooks ...
Michael Dell: Netbooks go sour after 36 hours ? The Register
the Mini10v should be a class product!
I biought three Outlet 10v's - two were just fine - the third had a webcam which gave a pronounced grreenish image. After several support calls and an attempted repair which never happened, Dell just sent me a brand new 10v - straight off the Chinese production line.
Now guess what - yep the webcam is just as crappy with a grreenish tint to everything especially in darker environments. Now I can put the two good 10v's next to this brand new one (and the third bad 10v one that I still have) and the difference is striking.
NOT ONLY THAT but
1. the screen colour balance on the brand new one is inferior - reds are purplish - in fact everything has a blueish tinge to it. I guess they are sourcing crappy screens from somewhere else!
2. this is the killer - just TOUCHING the back of the screen lid anywhere close to the Dell logo produces screen ripples - this DOES NOT HAPPEN on the other three 10v's or the six display models I checked out at my local Currys store here in Bracknell! Nor, I have to say, do they exhibit any greenish images on their webcams!
WTF is Dell doing!
Right now I'm still waiting for Dell Support to get back to me - I'm happy to drop by their UK HQ - 3 mins away from my home to show them the evidence!
