Default Opinions of Cyberlink Powercinema on mini-10? - 09-30-2009, 02:32 PM

I recently reinstalled windows xp.
Then went looking for available software for my mini on Dell's drivers and downloads site.
"Cyberlink_Powercinema_A01_R214825" is 110mb unpacked.
I want to install this because I'm hoping it will improve HDTV viewing.
I googled Cyberlink_Powercinema and found this site that says "Watch TV programs in high-definition via MPEG-4 AVC decoder"
PowerCinema - All-in-One Digital Media Center
Does this program load extra stuff in windows startup?
Does anyone here use the Dell version on their mini?

Thank you,

Jon, the AVC decoder simply allows viewing of AVC HD content. If I end up watching anything in HD it's either NetFlix streaming or DivX/XviD, and for that VLC is the way to go. Honestly, the only Cyberlink product I care for is PowerDVD. I had a similar Cyberlink package come with an old laptop and it included apps for picture and video editing and organization, and I think maybe PowerDVD was in there too. I never used it, but it did have 3-4 startup items that loaded with Windows.
