I've had my Mini 10 (not 10v) for a couple of months now, and everything is running pretty well. I'm using WinXP SP3, for the record. 160Gb HDD, not SSD
. For the last couple of weeks my netbook has been making the occasional harsh beep
. Sometimes it won't do it at all, sometimes it'll do it once or twice a day. It sounds like a hardware beep to me, but I can't confirm it - it happens so irregularly that I can't check where it's coming from, and I can't force it because I have no idea what causes it.
Any ideas? It's annoying because I don't want to take it into lectures any more in case it beeps in the middle...
I can't really give much more info because I have no idea if there's any kind of common link between times it occurs - plugged in to the mains? Possibly. I thought it was something plugged into USB (or the powered USB port) but it's not that. I really have no clue.
While I'm here, there is one more small issue, too. My trackpad 'sticks' occasionally.
One moment it'll be fine, then the next it just won't respond. I can click, I can right-click, but I can't actually move the cursor. Usually I mash some keyboard combinations (CTRL-ESC, etc) and it frees up, but I don't know if they're actually doing anything or if it's a time thing. Any clue on ways to sort that out? Again, there doesn't seem to be a common link between times when this occurs, although it seems more frequent when coming out of standby - but it does happen at other times too.
PS - I was tempted to put this in 'Hardware problems' but I'm not 100% sure it's a hardware issue, so for now it's probably better suited here.
