I recentry tried to install the update for the BIOS on my Mini 10. It crashed and restarted and then it does nothing. There is just a black screen. Does anyone know what I can do? I have an external HDD that i could use if needed and an SD card. But i really dont know what i can do.

I don't think there's anything you can do but call Dell. I updated mine with the new 09 bios and it went ok.

Not good. I have a mini 10 and just tried to update my bios to A09 and it did the same thing. i ran the updater and it froze the whole screen up. Mouse wouldn't move or anything and i left it sit for 10 min or so. Finally powered it off and when i turn it on I just get a black screen. Talked to tech support and they are sending me a new system board but i wonder if this is going to be a common problem with the A09 bios.

This is for A09 BIOS (My mini-10 came with A07 BIOS)
I ran the BIOS updater in Windows, I couldn't find a good guide to use the DOS updater.
The windows updater showed 18 blocks being erased and rewritten individually, in the GUI updater. (I think there were 18 blocks).
When it was all done, (the updater) said it would reboot automatically.
It didn't. I waited about 10 minutes.
Then I decided to close the window, my USB mouse still worked, but the keyboard didn't.
The application hung up. I waited a long time to see if it would close, it didn't.
Since my mouse still worked, I used the menu to reboot my mini.
It rebooted and everything seemed fine. The WiFi radio was turned off, so I used the app to turn it back on.
My mini also did a funny thing in Linux 7 Mint. When I wanted to log off of mint with the power button, I got a dialog saying "user has no permission to log off"
So I used the menu to log off. That worked fine. Upon a reboot, the power button reverted to working like it did before I upgraded the BIOS.
(power button in Mint takes you to log-off screen)
Everything else seems fine today. I checked the BIOS screen and it is listed as version: A09
